Scope
This notice explains what happens to your data when you message, mention or comment to the @askthisai account on Instagram. The assistant is run by the operator of AskThisAI.
If you write to a business that uses an assistant we built for it, that business decides how your data is used, and its own privacy notice applies.
What we receive
- Your Instagram account ID and username, and the profile details Instagram shares with the account.
- The messages, comments and mentions you send, and the replies we send back.
- Photos, videos, voice messages and links you share.
- Technical details such as message identifiers and times.
What the assistant works out
- The language you write in.
- A short summary of earlier conversations, so the assistant can pick up where you left off.
- Notes on your interests and preferred tone, used to shape answers.
- Transcripts of voice messages and descriptions of the photos and videos you send.
- Usage counters, such as how many requests you made today, to apply daily limits.
- Topic statistics that record subjects and counts, without message text.
Why we use it
- To answer you and provide the features you use: answers, photo and video analysis, transcription, image and voice replies, and video downloads.
- To apply fair-use limits and prevent abuse.
- To show sponsored recommendations. They are marked as sponsored and chosen by the type of conversation, not from a profile of you.
- To find and fix errors.
We rely on providing the service you ask for, our legitimate interest in keeping the assistant secure and reliable, and our legal obligations.

Our AI providers process this data under business terms that do not allow them to use it to train their models. We do not sell your data. Ask us and we will name the providers in writing.

These are our current settings. If we change them, we update this notice.
Your choices and rights
- Send /reset in a direct message to delete your recent messages, conversation summaries and notes on interests and tone at once.
- Ask for everything to be deleted, as described in Deleting your data.
- Ask for access, correction or a copy of your data by writing to support@askthisai.net.
- Stop using the assistant whenever you like. It never starts a conversation with someone who has not written to it.
Automated answers
Replies are written automatically by AI and can be wrong. Do not rely on them for medical, legal or financial decisions. The assistant never claims to be a person.
Children
Instagram requires users to be at least 13 years old. The assistant is not aimed at children, and we delete data we learn belongs to a child below the minimum age.
